The Association “Budućnost“ (Future) is a nongovernmental organization established in 1996 with headquarters in Modrica. The Association performs its activity on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The organization was founded by several women, optimists, firmly believing in a better future of society in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From the very beginning of its work to date, Budućnost, as an organization, has always been faithful to his primary strategy – the promotion and protection of women and children human rights.
The main objectives of Citizens’ Association “Budućnost” is contributing – through various activities – to the development of civil society, strengthening civic self-awareness, educating the public, especially women, children and young people in accordance with the law, prevention of violence against women and children in collaboration with the relevant institutions, prevention of drug addiction and drug abuse, prevention of criminal behavior among young people, the rule of human and social rights, development of political culture and tolerance, with special emphasis on women human rights.
The Citizens’ Association “Budućnost” implements activities through four organizational segments, namely:

- providing free legal aid to citizens
- psycho-social counseling
- family and partner counseling
- lobbying and advocacy for the coordination and implementation of laws
- professionalization and organizational development
- Safe House
- reception and accommodation for women and children victims of domestic violence
- SOS hotline for women and children victims of domestic violence
- free legal assistance to victims of domestic violence
- psycho-social assistance to victims of domestic violence
- pedagogical work with children who stay in the safe house
- occupational activities
- after care
- Work in the community
- educational work with students
- prevention of trafficking and abuse of children
- raising public awareness
- development of referral mechanisms and institutions at all levels
- women’s clubs in rural areas
- synchronized actions of the Commission for Gender Equality in Doboj, Višegrad region and other areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina
